Reflections

A missionary is a person or family who shares the Good News of Jesus Christ with others, especially those who have never heard it! A missionary is often known as someone who leaves their home country to go to another country abroad to share the Gospel with them. However, you can be a missionary in your own community! Sharing with your neighbors, friends and even family! A missionary is not defined by where they are, but rather their motivation: To Glorify God and make disciples of all nations! (The Great Commission, Matthew 20:19,20)

Being a missionary where you live means that you see everyday life situations as opportunities to serve God and show His love to others. You are intentional about building relationships with people who really need Jesus. You want for them to be saved, and you’re always ready to share your Faith when the opportunity arises! It means that you pray for your neighbors, and you always look to ways to bless them and fulfill their needs. Being a missionary where you live means that you are not ashamed of the gospel, but you live it out in everything you do! (Romans 1:16)

Just like being a missionary abroad, being a missionary where you live is still not very easy! But, again, just like being a missionary abroad, it is quite rewarding! You need courage, humility, patience and perseverance to be a missionary where you live. You also have to have dependence on God who gives you the power, ability and words to share His love! NOTE THIS: God has put you where you are for a purpose! He wants you to further His kingdom where you live!
